How it works?

This state-of-the-art system measures the color light intensity of the signal light and monitors its orientation. It ensures that a traffic signal is viewable by vehicles, bicyclists, and pedestrians. A series of detectors on signal lights of an intersection provides a complete assessment of the illumination and elapsed time of illumination for each color phase on a traffic signal. The traffic signal light’s functional status, the predicted timing of signal light’s phase change, and the traffic volume count data are communicated to applicable subscribers to perform real-time traffic congestion management, and to predict future traffic light status and traffic flow along the network of traffic signal lights and planned driving routes.
